Celtics find themselves in their seventh game 7 between the Sixers as the Sixers wrap up game 6 in the Wells-Fargo Center in Philadelphia. Game 6 between these two teams was anything but obvious as each team exchanged leads within the game multiple times.
The top performer for the Celtics was Paul Pierce with 24 points, ten rebounds, three assist and one block compared to the Sixers top performer Jrue Holiday with 20 points, three rebounds, six assist and two steals.
For the Celtics, other notable players were Kevin Garnet as he scored twenty points and had eleven rebounds. Rajon Rondo had a relatively quiet night has he racked up nine points, six assist and two steals. This is the second time Rondo has been under ten assists in his last 35 games. Some key players that were injured for the Celtics were Avery Bradly (shoulder) and Ray Allen (shins).
Key players other then Jrue Holiday were the other guards Evan Turner who had eleven points and nine rebounds, and Lou Williams as he scored eleven points and recorded six assists.
Both these teams posted up low scoring numbers as the Sixers scored 82 and the Celtics scored 75. This game ended up being a battle of the defenses as none of their offenses showed up.
The Celtics played particularly sloppy, shooting 26-78 (.333) and 3-14 (.214) from the 3 point line. To add to that they had committed 17 turnovers and 25 fouls.
Philadelphia may have something to prove as they enter their seventh game 7. The Celtics currently lead the series in game sevens 4 to 2. For the Celtics to prevail their next game, Rajon Rondo needs to play better then he did this game. Another key factor is the Celtics bench as they had only scored a combined 5 points for the first 35 minutes.
